Program

On Sunday 23 August 2026, the Renewi Tour reaches its climax with the final stage in and around Leuven. In recent years, the city has established itself as a major cycling destination, hosting the Memorial Jef Scherens, the Tour of Leuven and the iconic 2021 UCI Road World Championships. Today, Leuven once again takes centre stage with the grand finale of the Renewi Tour. After five days of racing, the battle for stage victory, podium places and the blue-green leader’s jersey will come to a conclusion here.

Course

Last year’s final stage already delivered a thrilling finale in the heart of Leuven. The route builds on the city’s rich cycling heritage, incorporating elements of the Memorial Jef Scherens, the Tour of Leuven and roads made famous during the 2021 UCI Road World Championships. Will we once again see a battle for bonus seconds and a decisive sprint for overall victory on the Bondgenotenlaan?

Host cities

Leuven once again provides the backdrop for the grand finale of the Renewi Tour. Last year, Arnaud De Lie secured his overall victory here. In 2026, Leuven will once again determine the successor to the Belgian title holder.

Leuven is a university city in the heart of Europe: welcoming, innovative and connected to the world. The city’s heartbeat comes from its nearly 600-year-old university, one of the oldest in Europe. Its influence can be felt everywhere, from iconic heritage and art to the city’s daily energy and dynamism.

But Leuven is much more than its university. Compact, easy to navigate on foot or by bike and full of life. Enjoy vibrant terraces, cosy coffee bars and a rich beer culture. The city’s lively atmosphere can be found in its shopping streets, cultural hotspots and welcoming events. Green spaces throughout the city offer room to relax, while beautiful countryside is never more than a short ride away.

Accessibility

For the final stage, large crowds are expected in Leuven. Thanks to the central location of Leuven railway station, within walking distance of both the start and finish areas, travelling by train is the easiest way to visit the race.

Cycling is also an excellent option to reach the different passages of the peloton in and around Leuven. Because of the local nature of the route, spectators will be able to follow the race from several points along the course.

If you are travelling by car, please take into account traffic restrictions, temporary road closures and limited access to the city centre on race day.

Think sustainable, travel smart
The Renewi Tour encourages all visitors to travel to the race as sustainably as possible. Whenever you can, choose the bike, public transport or carpooling. This helps reduce traffic around the route and supports the Renewi Tour’s sustainable ambition.
