The 2025 edition of the Renewi Tour through Belgium and the Netherlands aims to re-establish itself as the most sustainable and green stage race on the cycling calendar. This year, the Renewi Tour will take place from Wednesday 20 to Sunday 24 August 2025, preceded by a team presentation on Tuesday 19 August. Below is a more detailed overview of the 2025 stage schedule:
Tuesday 19 August 2025
Team presentation | Terneuzen
Before the Renewi Tour is effectively kicked off on Wednesday, the official team presentation will take place on Tuesday evening. On the podium in Terneuzen, all participating teams and riders will be introduced to the public.
Wednesday 20 August
Stage 1 | Terneuzen – Breskens | 182,7 km
The first stage is a flat sprint stage through the open Zeeland and Dutch countryside. The riders start from Terneuzen and ride past dykes, windmills and vast polder roads towards the finish in Breskens. The chances of wind are high so who knows, we might already get some blowing action in the opening stage. Wind and echelons can create time differences in the results and, who knows, may already play an important role for the final classification
Thursday 21 August
Stage 2 | Blankenberge – Ardooie | 169,4 km
From the Belgian coastal town of Blankenberge, the peloton heads east to Ardooie, which is often the setting for a classic bunch sprint. Last year the stage from Blankenberge to Ardooie was also part of the Renewi Tour, when Jonathan Milan pocketed his second stage victory. Next edition’s stage is again predominantly flat. Will we see anyone who can surprise the sprinters in the second stage?
Friday 22 August
Stage 3 | Aalter – Geraardsbergen | 179,9 km
On Friday, the favourites for the overall victory get a first test with the third stage. From Aalter, last year’s fourth stage finish, the peloton heads towards the Flemish Ardennes, arriving in Geraardsbergen. With plenty of hills, cobbles and passages over the iconic Muur van Geraardsbergen, differences are bound to be made here. The finish line? Just like last year on the Vesten van Geraardsbergen when Belgian champion Arnaud De Lie was the strongest.
Saturday 23 August
Stage 4 | Riemst – Bilzen-Hoeselt | 196,0 km
This Limburg ride takes in a mosaic of hills and vineyards. With Riemst as the start location and an arrival in Bilzen-Hoeselt, we get a replay of last year’s opening stage. The rolling roads and short hills invite attacks, but can they also provide separation? Last year, Jonathan Milan rushed to the win and first leader’s jersey in a bunch sprint.
Sunday 24 August
Stage 5 | Leuven – Leuven | 185,0 km
The final stage of this Renewi Tour takes place in the cycling-mad city of Leuven, host city of the 2021 Road World Championships. A local city loop with short climbs like the Keizersberg and the Wijnpers, interspersed with a bigger tour towards Hageland ensures spectacle until the very last metres. In Leuven, on the beautiful Bondgenotenlaan, they will fight for the stage win and the final classification.
With this stage schedule and its green ambitions, the Renewi Tour 2025 proves that top-class sport and sustainability can go hand in hand. All info and details per stage will follow soon!
